Island Peak is classed as a trekking peak but you’ll be using crampons and an ice axe for the summit day, along with techniques for ascending a fixed rope. Training will be supplied before the summit attempt and technical kit like big boots, gloves, warm sleeping bag, crampons, ice axe, big gloves etc. will be available to hire. Team size is maximum of 10.
Arrive day 1 of your expedition in Kathmandu and leave on the last day back to the UK.
Day 01 - Arrival Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel Manaslu
Day 02 - Flight to Lukla (2,800m) & trek to Phakding (2,610m)
Day 03 - Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Day 04 - Acclimatisation day in Namche
Day 05 - Namche – Thyanboche (3,800m)
Day 06 - Thyangboche – Dingboche
Day 07 - Rest day in Dingboche
Day 08 - Chukkung
Day 09 - Island Peak base camp
Day 10 - Summit and back to base camp
Day 11 - Pangboche
Day 12 - Namche
Day 13 - Lukla
Day 14 - Kathmandu
Day 15 - Kathmandu
Day 16 - Departure

The Island Peak training weekend includes details of how to use all the techniques needed for this expedition (fixed ropes, jumars, abseils, crampons, ice axe use) to help improve your chances of summit success.
The weekend is based from Llanberis, north Wales and cost excludes accommodation and travel. Joining details ill be sent once booking is confirmed.
